It's better to burn out
than to fade away. . .
Neil Young.
I watched on the big screen in movies abroad. What can I say? There's no spoilers. Anyone who has read the book will be disappointed. Because you have invaded not the world of Frank Herbert, but the universe of Villeneuve, Hans Zimmer, and especially with visionary techniques, the camera work of Greg Fraser (unique with the technical bar work, the scale is off the scale). The coolest scene (SPOILER!!!): when Paul and Chani hide behind the Harvester designs. It's not real.
In general, Villeneuve here deliberately moves away from the dialogue component, and focuses on dramatic moments, but it is the action that dominates. This is different from the first part. But Chalamet looks to me, still a bit simple, without the strength that was needed. This is also a conscious move of the director, to focus on the picture and symbolism, storyboarding.
After the film, I had this feeling, I wanted to go to my favorite tennis with a friend and serve a couple of aces, make shortened ones, and then quickly gather in Sri Lanka and swim. If you have the same feeling after watching - you are in my team and we understand a friend of a friend about this film.
